Reviewers say:

“After reading the first 2 books in this series, I was quite surprised by this one. It went in a different direction and had a much weightier message with religious/Christian parallels. It was interesting in how she put those moral dilemmas out there and gave the characters the freedom to make their own choices. Some chose to follow the good path of either El or God while others continued down an evil path rejecting El or God. It was not preachy but it blended into the story very well. If you were not familiar with Christian religions, you might think it was all just made up.
Aria’s life was still a big part of the story and so was Owen but their relationship changed and at first, I did not care for the change. But as the story went on the changes were more interesting and things started to fall into place. There was more of an emphasis on other characters and you see how love can save even the most hardened person. There were some very uplifting moments in the story.
My favorite part was the ending. I never saw that coming and loved it.”

“Some authors write great stories, but chicken out just as they reach the end and fail to stick their landing. C.J. Brightley does not suffer from this authorial malady; ‘The Beginning of Wisdom’ is a satisfying conclusion to the series, while leaving some plotlines open to the reader’s imagination and possible future expansion. While I feel that the author’s style is somewhat dialogue-heavy for my taste, this is not really a flaw in this particular instance, since there is much to discuss and a real need to explore the implications of the ideas presented throughout the series. I enjoyed this story thoroughly.”

“I really enjoyed these books (all 3). I loved the Christian aspect plus the fae. I could almost hear the singing of the fae and I loved Toby’s explanation and interpretation of the Bible. I really enjoy the genre of fantasy but I have never found one with so much biblical knowledge and I really enjoyed it. Thank you very much.”

“What an incredible journey this has been! Aria is a heroine that is easily related to and the rest of the characters are so realistic, then add in love, pain, growth, and redemption, to make a book hard to put down. Leaves me with a good feeling.”
