Reviewers say:
“I would like to state, for the record, that anthologies are not my favorite books to read. I often find it hard to enjoy the short story format. That being said, I was surprised to enjoy this book thoroughly.
The first surprise was opening the book and finding the first story was written by one of my favorite authors, W R Gingell. “Cloudy With A Chance Of Dropbears ” is a fun foray into a new world and I am pleased to say that I will be reading more about the “Kid” and her adventure when the full length book is released. Gingell is an author I am very familiar with because I have read and enjoyed all of her books. She has a position high on my ‘favorite authors’ list and this story did not disappoint.
Normally I find anthologies to have a few gems among a collection of stories. “Fell Beasts And Fair” was the opposite. Most of the stories were excellent and I will hunt for more books written by the authors gathered here. This collection is full of twisty endings, strong women, silly spriggans, frightening beasts, magic, and mythical creatures. But there are also stories that weave in the more human traits of love, loyalty and family ties. Some have a humorous thread and some more dark and serious but all were appropriate for family reading around a fire or sharing with friends.
My greatest hope is that some of the authors that I was introduced to here will become books on my favorites shelf.”
